I love to finish projects. There is so much satisfaction in completing a home improvement project, achieving a personal goal, or getting over any major hurdle. At the end of the year it feels like we’re finishing something big so it’s good to reflect and ponder on our favorite days or events. I also love to look forward to the New Year with a fresh sense of excitement and anticipation. Blogging is unique in that you can actually look back and see a glimpse of what you had going on, day after day, week after week, or month after month. It’s also helpful, and exciting, to see which recipes were a hit, with you and us!
Coming in at No. 10 – Skillet Chicken and Mushroom Wine Sauce – what a great, easy classic recipe with all my favorite flavors! Mushrooms and wine are made for each other.
No. 9 – so happy to see a cookie recipe make the top 10! These lovely little Lemon Meltaways are the perfect bite of sweet, tart, soft, melt-in-your-mouth buttery goodness.
No. 8 – Wild Rice and Mushroom Soup – earthy, hearty and seriously comforting, this soup is just the ticket for the dark days of winter.
No. 7 – Melting Butter Potatoes – I was starting to think these little spuds slipped by unnoticed! So happy to see them in this roundup as they are truly delicious. Crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside with plenty of fresh herbs and flavor. There is a lady in my husband’s office that makes these all the time now – and tells him each time they pass in the hall. Definitely worth making more than once 🙂
No. 6 – My husband is still upset that he was out of town when I made this Chicken Pot Pie with Herb Biscuits. I’ve promised to make it again and already have ideas for a few variations. My son Patrick must have smelled it from across the neighborhood because he stopped in and ate almost the entire casserole. He pronounced this as the best thing I’ve ever made. Yup we loved it!
No 5 – on the countdown is easy Blueberry Breakfast Cake. Simple and simply delicious. I adore blueberries anyway but folded into a simple, not too sweet cake, they melt into little flavor bombs. Serve for breakfast like a coffee cake, with afternoon tea, or as a special dessert after dinner. An all around wonderful recipe!
No. 4 – I am so happy this pie made it to the top of the list. Old-Fashioned Butterscotch Pie – your butterscotch loving taste testers are going to love you for this one!
No. 3 on the countdown is the Fresh Peach & Raspberry Clafoutis (pronounced klafuti.) We loved this traditional French dessert made with seasonal fresh fruit, covered in a thick custard-like batter, then baked. It is often served warm with a dusting of confectioners’ sugar. Just serve mine with a spoon please!
No. 2 – I am completely smitten with this drool-worthy Blueberry Crumble Pie. Sweet fresh blueberries topped with a crispy crumble all baked up in a wonderful summer pie. A must make for your ripe blueberries!
No. 1 – and would you believe an Easy Pasta Salad with Zesty Italian Dressing made it to number one, beating all other posts 7 times over! This recipe was popular on Pinterest during the summer just when everybody needed an easily adaptable recipe for BBQ’s and picnics. I’ve been making some version of this recipe for many years, and probably will again this summer!
But most of all, you my friends and faithful readers are Number 1 in my heart. That may sound a little sappy, but nevertheless true. I am humbled and thrilled and hope you will come again for a visit very soon. My goals and dreams for 2016 are BIG! I’ve found my passion and can’t wait to test and tweak, inspire and be inspired, create and tweak some more, then share the best with you.
Have a very happy, prosperous and wonderful New Year! Thanks so much for stopping by!

They all look fantastic, Tricia. I keep mistaking those potatoes as pan seared scallops.
