Ingredients

  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 15 oz can fire-roasted tomatoes (drained)
  • ½ medium sweet onion, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • juice of 2 limes
  • 2 jalapeños, chopped (seeds and membrane removed)
  • cup cilantro leaves, packed

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until well blended. Check seasoning and add salt, pepper and lime juice as needed.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Serve as a dip with chips and vegetables. Or dolloped over a salad, burritos, tacos or your favorite Mexican creation.
