It’s back to school time. ย Friends and relatives are dropping their children off at college. ย Families are shopping for school supplies and clothes for their children that grew three feet during the summer. ย Even though I’m not going back to school and don’t have any school aged children, I still enjoy the excitement that comes with this new beginning. ย I always loved school functions, although I don’t miss the homework. ย I’m sure my kids don’t miss it either.
Moms and dads everywhere will be stocking the shelves with after school snacks for their hungry students so I thought I’d help by sharing this recipe for an easy chocolaty treat.
You probably know I have a thing for dough … and rolling pins … well, and ice cream too. ย I’ve always been a fan of graham crackers and especially love chocolate grahams. ย These sweet crackers are very adaptable. ย You can add a sprinkle of coarse sugar or sea salt or smear a little Nutella on top with sliced bananas.
I’m putting these in the freezer to take with us on a camping trip. ย Can’t you just see toasted marshmallows on top of a chocolate graham?
Made with melted bittersweet chocolate, brown sugar, honey and a little whole wheat flour, these bake up crisp and not overly sweet.

This recipe sounds totally delicious and what a great homemade treat for the back-to-schooler! I adore it, especially your lovely cut-out shapes. Very adorable and I bet super delicious. I'm in denial about Labor Day coming up and school starting already but I can't help but notice all the snacks in the grocery aisle and all the shopping going on. Sigh…
