Cool and creamy,ย Homemade Mocha Frappuccino is a simpleย summertime treat made with just a few ingredients.
This is so easy to make and much more cost effective than buying oneย in a cafe or restaurant. ย The part I like best is being able to adjust the ingredients to suit your taste. ย If you’re into more chocolate, go right ahead and add another tablespoon of rich, good quality cocoa. ย Perhaps you like aย thick frappuccino with lots of ice like my husband; I preferย mine a little less frozen myself. ย In fact you can pour it over ice and skip the blender all together. ย But don’t skip the whipped cream and chocolate syrup drizzle … just saying ๐

I’ve been known to wake up in the morning and feel the need to drink several cups of coffee. ย In my haste I often make too much thinking it may take more than two cups to get me going. ย My husband, who is the original foode in this house, is always grateful to have leftovers so he can make coffee smoothies. ย He has even been known to use chocolate milk inย his coffee at work, especially in a pinch. ย Since we hate to throw anything out, a nice cold Homemade Mocha Frappuccino is a perfect afternoon treat to use up that extra coffee.
Are you in the middle of this heatwave? ย It is crazy hot here again today with the heat index at 110 degrees. ย Sweat city! ย I feel sorry for anybody that has to work outdoors and can’t get in from the heat. ย I don’t think I could ever get used to it.
We are fine to drink the Mocha Frappuccino straight from the blender but who can resist a little whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup? ย Not me!
Feel free toย add more ice if you want. ย I like a little less to keep thatย full rich chocolate coffee flavor. ย What do you think?
Is it time for a little creamy Homemade Mocha Frappuccino?
Thanks for PINNING!

Robyn @ Simply Fresh Dinners
I swear just yesterday we were having a conversation about how everyone could save so much money if they made their own instead of going to Starbucks.
These stunning photos are completely blowing me away, Tricia! Absolutely beautiful and you just get lost in them on a hot day like today! Sharing ๐
Tricia Buice
We talk about that too – and soda – so much money is spent on soda and other food items that have no nutritive value. Treats are occasionally a good thing but not everyday. Thanks Robyn!
John/Kitchen Riffs
Love this! Such a great combo of flavors. We never have leftover coffee, alas — we use a French press and make just enough. But I could make some just for this. ๐ And yes, it’s been sweat city here, too! Fun recipe — thanks.
Tricia Buice
Thanks John!
Abbe@This is How I Cook
Love these! I used to have one a day and then I realized it was not doing good for the figure-so to speak! May have to try your version with fat free condensed milk. This looks and sounds great, Tricia! I once made there copyycat version years ago, but this way strikes me as simpler!
Tricia Buice
The fat free milk sounds like a great idea Abbe! Either way, this is a nice occasional treat with leftover coffee ๐

Gotta love an icy cold coffee!
Monica
Would you believe I make myself a mocha frappucino about 3-4x a week to have with breakfast! The recipe I use isn’t exactly the same but I’ve been making it ever since I learned it a few years ago – though I’m a big fan of Starbucks, I love saving a ton of money going DIY at home! Your version sounds amazing and it looks even better. Thank you for cooling me down this morning with this lovely post!
Tricia Buice
I have often thought that we are on the same wave of cooking ideas Monica – I love everything you make. You should blog your mocha frap recipe!
Mandy
My mom would love these!
Have a wonderful day Tricia.

You too Mandy – thanks!
Gerlinde @ Sunnycovechef
This looks wonderful , I will make it soon. I wonder if I could subsitute regular milk for the condensed milk.
Tricia Buice
Hi Gerlinde! You can substitute any kind of milk or half/half but may need to add some sort of sweetener to replace the sweetened condensed milk. Unless you like your coffee unsweetened then you will be good to go!
Becky Green
OH MY GOODNESS!!! My daughter SQUEALED when I showed her! LOL TOTALLY YUMMY, Tricia!!! ๐
Tricia Buice
We do love a good cold treat on a hot day! Thanks so much for the sweet comment Becky – and tell your daughter I hope she enjoys it ๐
cheri
I could definitely go for one of these right now. Love that I can now make my own as I cannot drink caffeinated coffee. Beautiful presentation Trisha!
Tricia Buice
Thank you Cheri – I can’t drink caffeine after about 10:00 am or I’ll never sleep. Decalf would be great too ๐
Monique
Your photos are always so beautiful..I may make this one day for my daughter..she loves them.I bet I would too:)I agree the whipped cream etc..just makes them all the more special..and everyone could do w/ a dose of speciall.
I know that I am thrilled when someone specials me.
Tricia Buice
It is so easy to make Monique. Hope you get a chance to give it a try – especially with this heat wave, iced is the only way to go!
Angie@Angie's Recipes
I am a tea drinker, but now I wish I could have one of your frappuccino!! So GOOD!
Tricia Buice
I love tea too Angie – usually decaffeinated for late afternoons and evenings but I must have that morning cup of coffee!
Chris Scheuer
Caffeine in dessert form, sounds amazing and a perfect way to jumpstart the day or keep it going. Awesome pictures Tricia!
Tricia Buice
Thank you Chris! I don’t usually drink caffeine late in the day but for one of these I can break the rules!
Jennifer @ Seasons and Suppers
Beautiful! And since there isn’t a Starbucks anywhere near me (I know!), I have to make my own coffee treats. Putting this on the list to make soon ๐
Tricia Buice
Thank you Jennifer – I have a Starbucks down the street and never go there. Guess I’m a little on the cheap side ๐ However, when traveling – I go there first for my morning coffee!
Sara
This looks WAY better than the kind you pay $5 for at Starbucks, perfect for a super hot day like today!
Tricia Buice
Thanks Sara – Hope you’re staying cool!
Maria
Did you use Syrup instead of powder?
Tricia Buice
Just on the drizzle Maria. The cocoa powder goes in the drink and the syrup on top. Hope that helps!
