I am so excited about this recipe! I’ve searched, researched, investigated, and perused various publications all in an effort to find the perfect dog treat! I think I’ve mentioned before that we have three dogs at our house. Husband and I actually only own one dog, but seem to be the adopted grandparents of the other two. Grandparents, especially grandmothers, are responsible for fun and games, and of course … treats and snacks!
I must be going through Christmas baking withdrawal because I was really in the mood to roll something out and use a cookie cutter. These puppy treats were perfect! Especially since I don’t have to eat them – but I could if I wanted. I guess that would be pretty funny to take a little bag of homemade dog treats to work and snack on them with my co-workers at lunch 🙂 Ha – they probably wouldn’t even say anything!
Peanut Butter Treats
2 tablespoons corn oil
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup water
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 cups white flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine oil, peanut butter and water. Add flour 1 cup at a time, then knead into firm dough. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut with small bone shaped cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.

Is it weird that I want to eat one too?
