A tall glass of Jameson Whiskey with ginger ale

Jameson & Ginger Ale ~ a smooth and bubbly grown-up drink made with Jameson Irish Whiskey, bottled ginger ale and plenty of fresh squeezed lime juice.

Just popping in for a quick post today!  I don’t often share these kind of recipes, mostly because we don’t drink often (enough!) But when I do, Jameson is my liquor of choice.  It’s a crazy smooth, balanced whiskey without any funny, lingering aftertaste.

On our last two adventures in Ireland, we toured the Jameson Distillery in Dublin. At the end of the tour, the Jameson staff share a wee nip of the spirits with the group. All the grownups can either sample Jameson straight up, on ice, or with ginger ale and lime as I have served it here. This is a refreshing, bright and delicious way to enjoy whiskey and perhaps a great way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

A glass of ice with a jigger of whiskey poured over the top

Jameson & Ginger Ale takes minutes to make.

Add ice to your highball glass (taller than the old-fashioned glass), then a shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey.

A tall glass of jameson and ginger ale with ice and lime wedges

Easy to make and even easier to drink!

Add ginger ale leaving a little space at the top.  Lightly stir to combine.  You don’t have to be a mixologist to make this delicious drink!

A glass of whiskey with ginger ale poured over the top. Served with a lime wedge

How much lime should you add to a glass of Jameson & Ginger Ale?

Squeeze two, or three slices of lime into the glass.  Don’t skimp on the lime – it really makes this drink.  Then top with another splash of ginger ale and serve immediately!

Thanks for PINNING!

Jameson is also great straight from the bottle, or served over ice.  Always a favorite in our family!

I don’t normally drink hard liquor but we always keep a bottle of Jameson on hand for one particular friend who loves it. I may have to do a little experiment and try this in honor of St. Patrick’s Day 🙂 Beautiful shots, Tricia!

You are a sweet friend to keep Jameson around Susan. We don’t drink much but I do enjoy a good shot of Jameson once or twice a year for good measure. Or when traveling in Ireland! Enjoy 🙂

I love how simple this cocktail is, and it looks so refreshing, I think it would be a great summertime drink. I’m usually a wine drinker, but I’ll make an exception for this, thanks Tricia!

Love Irish whiskey! Good drink — sound delish. And good photos — I think backlighting is probably the best way to go when photographing drinks. Thanks for the link love! 🙂
